Animal Haiku

Hi, I have written three different Haiku poems can you guess what animal each one is about?

1 - It's taller than me
Standing tall with a long neck
Munching on yum leaves

2 - Long legs with strong teeth
Strong sense of smell and hearing
Submerging themselves

3 - Trunk to store water
Rolls in the muddy puddle
Stomps with heavy feet

Kia ora Ramona! Glad to see you posting some work :) Let me guess..... giraffe, hmmmm (I'm stuck - thinking hippo but they don't have long legs....) elephant. How did I do? You had better leave the answers some time soon.

Your right about the giraffe and elephant but keep guessing about the middle one.

Hi Ramona
I think the middle one is a hippo. Am I right?

From Sela.

Hi Ramona and Sela - Long legs - I don't think it can be a hippo. Maybe a horse then?

Go Ramona!

Awesome Haiku poems. Although I love Giraffes, I would say that the third one is my favourite.

I'm not 100% sure on the second one.. how about a clue?
Does it rhyme with Goose???

Its not a Hippo or a Horse. Your right Miss Aris it does rhyme with Goose but it is not a Goose.

You have left us all guessing about the middle animal which makes your haiku fun.
It rhymes with goose - is it a moose - or a bear on the loose?
Did you visit the zoo to inspire your poetry or have you used the internet and library to find out about the animals?

You are correct Marion it is a moose. Yes we visited the Zoo but I also used my own knowledge of the animals to write my Haiku.
