Meshaq's Winter Game

How to play Indoor Dodge Ball

Equipment needed:

5 large softballs

2 even teams of 5

A wall

A gold coin

A stop watch

Method:

1. First you get into two even teams.

2 Next play heads and tails and the winner gets the ball first.

3. Then each player in the winning team gets a ball each.

4. Use the stop watch to time the game for five minutes

5. Now begin the game.

6. You can only throw the ball at the players from the waist and below.

7. The team with the most players still standing wins.

8. After five minutes swap over.

You can make the time shorter to make the game more intense and challenging .

Meshaq's Discussion Writing

Should We Extend Shopping Hours On Easter Weekend

Some people think we should while others disagree.

Some people feel that shopkeepers should extend shopping hours on the Easter weekend. People run out of food and need more time to shop. Shopping with the family is fun and exciting. Store owners could earn themselves more money.

Other people feel that shopkeepers need a break on the Easter weekend. They need to spend the time with their family. Easter is a religious holiday and people need to go to church. This is important quality time for Christian families.

I think that we shouldn’t extend shopping hours on Easter weekend.

Gardening at Tamaki Intermediate

Gardening at Tamaki Intermediate

On Tuesday 20th April 2010 two very fortunate students from each class had been selected to do a very special job around the school and that was gardening.

Firstly we had to go to the library to get instructions from our gardening teacher Graham Shieff. He told us which plants we were gong to grow. He asked us if we had any knowledge of plants. Not much really!

Then he took us outside and we got to work. Gardening was fun! It was exciting because it was our first time. We had to dig holes and space the plants 30- 50 cm apart. We dug holes with a spade and then put nutrients in the soil. After that we squeezed the plants to loosen the soil. Then we covered it with soil.

Beau and Meshaq had to water them down. The whole process was videoed and we also took photos.

This was a new experience for us. We enjoyed it thoroughly and our school looks even better.

Anthony and Meshaqs Term Two Recount

Hi our names are Meshaq and Anthony. In week 6 our class started on our art, we used paint, pastel, tooth picks. Step 1 we needed to color our paper with different colored pastels. . Step 2 we had to paint the paper with black paint .We also had to wait for the paint to dry. Step 3 we had to scratch out the paint. Our design was based on Dunkirk River.

In the school I.C.T room we used the computer to publish our school work, like an acrostic animal adaptation poem. We also used the computer for blogging so we can look at other schools work and share our work with them.

In technology class our teacher Mr Brainch taught us how to make a board game. We needed wood, hammer, nails, wires, glue, and light bulb. Mr Brainch helps us.

We had house sports every Friday. Most of the time we play tug of war. There are 4 houses which are Calliope, Orpheus, Leander and ACHILLES ! We are in ACHILLES our house has won two house shields!

Overall we have had an awesome term and hope for an even better term next term.

Should students be allowed to stay up late on a week night?

Should students be allowed to stay up late during the week? An adult talking like no one is sleeping, brothers and sisters watching television. The volume is very loud. It is so hard to go to sleep.

I think students should be allowed to stay up late during week days because it is impossible to go to sleep with the T.V very loud, adults talking, a radio fully blasted right next to my bed room and dogs barking very loud and crying because they want to be let off their chain.

YES! I do think students should be allowed to stay up late during the WEEK because we can not get to sleep with all the noises anyway.

Recount of Ivan Cleary Visit

On Wednesday 17th June 2009 at 1.30pm Ivan Cleary entered room 16.
Everyone was amazed that he was actually in our class.

After we welcomed him into our class Rhiana and Isaiah started to ask him questions about his life.

Then we lined up and headed to the field. Ivan Cleary went through some ball skills with us.
We were learnt to pass the ball left and to run to the ball. We were all on our best behaviour.
He taught us some skills, such as always hold the ball with two hands and hold the ball where you want to catch it.

After we finished ball skills it was time for Ivan Cleary to go. Ramona stood up and thanked Ivan Cleary for teaching us some ball skills. It was great having him teaching us some skills. We were very lucky.

Just so Story - How the Zebra got its Stripes.

It was the most important day of Hippo and Zebras life. The day they were to get married. Unfortunately Zebra did not have a suit to wear.

Zebra run all around the store looking for a suit to wear for his wedding. Zebra checked ever y store in the town.

Then black paint fell off a shelf and onto Zebra and BOOM! Zebra run straight into the mall looking for a mirror.

Zebra looked very cool with stripes and hippo was amazed. They lived happily ever after. All the other Zebras thought it looked stylish and that’s how Zebras got their stripes.
